We were fortunate to have Danny Shoemaker of Straight Frets Guitar Service give a presentation about the capabilities of the PLEK machine at our meeting yesterday. The PLEK is a computer controlled machine that can level frets, plane fretboards, and cut nuts (among other things) with incredible precision. This machine is used by many guitar manufacturers and Straight Frets has the only publicly accessible PLEK machine in Texas.
